Introduction
We have been interested in these marvelous moqui ball stones ever since we first laid eyes on them. They are special to Nancy because they help relieve her depression problem.
We do sale moqui balls from this web site but have a source where we purchase them for resale because it is against the law to collect moqui balls from Escalante Monument anymore and you need a special permit. Larry and I did visit and photographed the area.

Wikipedia has a nice in-depth explanation of Navajo Sandstone
Moqui balls, as you know, if you read the Wikipedia Navajo Sandstone article, formed in the lower part of the Navajo Sandstone which is found near Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. As the rain and winds come, the sand is washed and blown away and reveals the moqui balls.

Like anything else on any subject you might read about, you will read conflicting stories. Here is one I would like to clear up. Moqui Balls are not the same thing as Boji Stones. I bought some Authentic Boji Stone and there is a distinct difference. Please also note; Moqui Balls are not from a metior.
![]() Boji Stones
These are Authentic Boji Stones, they sparkle, if you rub them together in a dark room sparks will occur. We do not sell them, you can purchase them from Avalon Crystals you'll also learn how they came about. Boji Stones sparkle; dark grey to black in color, not smooth like Moqui Balls and did not form as Moqui Balls did. An excellent links about Boji Stones which clears up why they sparkle. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrite
Moqui Balls are unique in the way they formed. Moqui Balls do not magnetize themselves to each other or anything else, in fact, they have pushing away energy between a male and a female stone (round – female, ufo -saucer shaped male.
Moqui Balls (is what my husband and I like to call them) have been around for centuries. They have been given many names by sacred tribes and different ways to spell them;
Moqui Balls are iron concretions of ore.

Mysterious healings
The Shaman Indians used Moqui Balls for their Shamanic healing such as visioning journeys, meditation, and spiritual rituals to contact their dead. In addition; moqui balls were originally used for physical pain, emotional imbalance, and other healing purposes. They are also uses for energy building, and general balancing. For pain, you place the stones on the body part that is hurting you.
If you hold a round (female) moqui ball in your left hand and a ufo-saucer shaped (male) moqui in your right hand and either, sit or lay down, this will clear away any negative thoughts you might be having. You will feel a calming-relaxing feeling that overcomes you.
The Shaman Indian and the Hopi Indian's children played marble games with the moqui balls. The older shamans placed the moqui balls in slings and used them for hunting.
Moqui balls have high protective energies because of their ability to absorb bad - negative energy and replace it with strong positive – useful balanced energy.
